Niia grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and confesses that music is her whole life. A classically trained pianist, Niia has been singing and performing since she was thirteen years old. She performed at many venues around Boston, and was invited to attend the Berklee College of Music summer program at fourteen. While in high school, she was named the National Jazz Voice winner in the Arts Recognition and Talent Search by the National Foundation for Advancement for the Arts (NFAA). After high school, Niia went to New York City where she attended New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music as a Jazz vocal major.

During her time at New School, Niia met acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer Wyclef Jean who was so impressed with her voice and musical skills that he began working with her and featured her on his 2008 hit single, "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)," which also featured Lil' Wayne and Akon. Niia went on tour around the world performing with Wyclef and has performed live on VH1 Soul Stage, The David Letterman Show, Jimmy Kimmel, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, the BET awards and MTV New Year's Eve in Times Square among others. She also starred in the four-part exclusive short-film "Americlef, "which was created by and shown on MTV. Niia also has a love of fashion and has performed her original music at various industry events during Fashion Week in NY.

Niia continues to write, record and perform her music and has received countless accolades from many of the biggest names in music for being a true artist. She has also been praised for her distinctive, sultry voice, her piano skills and her natural ability to sing and perform live.

Niia currently resides in New York City.
